My DAD, Gave me something (Hockey) to pass on . I`m 37 and when it comes to Hockey Coaching or Playing I still feel like that 4yr.old sitting at the kitchen table 5:30 am with all my gear on waiting for my dad to wake up and take me to hockey. That is the feeling I hope to pass on. Also I cannot forget  Late Mr. Wayne Salmond He coached with my dad and made it fun. When I speak of the hockey GODS he surely is one. Wayne Adams comes to mind, Co-Coach in the late 90`s he taught me there are 2 sides to the coin study each side very carefully pick the one with the best outcome i was a act and react kinda guy now I`m a act, think and react guy. there have been lots of people who have been in my life of hockey I`ve learned from every one of them shoulder to shoulder the cycle continues.,

Coaching Philosophy

Not to yell at he Athlete (call him/her out in front of everybody) after a mistake, the Athlete has already beat himself, herself twice as much already.

As a Coach you have to speak many languages, not every Athlete learns the same way. ( know the Athlete) Speak their language.

The Harder You Work the Less You Bleed

Greatest Achievement

Coaching Creston ThunderCats 2006 / 2007 A very memorable season, Creston has never finished above 3rd. in their division we finished that season 2nd. in our division. Creston had never made it past the second round of playoffs, that season we did,  only to lose 4 straight to the eventual League Champs. History was made that season.

Plus it had always been a Dream of mine to be standing with my Brother on a Junior Bench and Coaching,  the Dream came true while in Creston in both 2005 / 06,  and 2006 / 07,

Helping Athletes Succeed

I have a hard time with kids just existing,(just getting by). I always push for the Athlete to set goals and go for it, not only on ice but off ice too, and I will be there to help out any way I can. The greatest reward is seeing them as young contributing Adults.

Personal Best

Coaching Notre Dame in Chicago, the School had a struggling program, you could count the wins in 4 four years on one hand and was ranked high 30`s for Schools just in the Chicago area, When I left Notre Dame the team was ranked 6th. and a contender in the playoffs,  I knew I was leaving a good thing when I left to come home to British Columbia.
